Materials
THE MATERIAL DIFFERENCE
CASA uses non‑ferrous materials in its fabrication processes and compliant systems. Our range of non-ferrous materials comprises zinc, copper and aluminium. These materials offer superior attributes relative to traditional painted steel through being visually spectacular, easier to fabricate, lower maintenance and light weight.
Zinc and copper materials have surfaces which naturally patina over time offering protection from harsh weather. Aluminium is coated with superior PVDF paint offering a longer lifespan particularly in seaboard climates relative to painted steel.
We source the highest quality non-ferrous material solutions from the leading European mills including Germany, Spain, Finland and Norway and import these materials as full coils for fabrication on our ‘state-of-the-art’ equipment in our purpose-built facilities across Australia.
Colours
Available in several stylish colours, with more customised options available for unique projects.
Natural
Mill Finish zinc—shiny metallic appearance when new, developing a patina over time to gradually form matt light grey appearance.
Rheinzink
Our RHEINZINK line comes in two pre-weathered formats that resemble a naturally weathered surface (patina) both in colour and structure. Alloy-based and neither colour-coated or phosphate, the patina replenishes itself over time.
ElZinc
ElZinc has been manufacturing quality rolled zinc for roofing, cladding and internal applications since 2006. ElZinc is 100% natural, 100% recyclable and extremely durable. ElZinc is available in a range of 9 finishes including both natural and pre-weathered zinc options. Elzinc Product Technical Statement
Natural copper (mill finish)
Retains its bright red copper colouring after installation, before forming a protective oxide layer and gradually changing from matt, through a wide range of brown tones, and finally a robust green patina on sloping surfaces.
Nordic Brown and Nordic Brown Light (pre-oxidised)
Pre-oxidised during manufacturing to product the brown protective surface that naturally comes with ageing; can be combined for unique visual effects.
Nordic Blue living (pre-patinated)
For unparalleled design freedom, pre-oxidised copper is carefully treated to create specific patina colours and effects, as well as chemically binding the copper; material is easily bent and formed, with no length limitations on the copper sheet or strip.
Nordic Royal (copper alloy)
An alloy of copper with aluminium and zinc, giving it a rich, golden colour and making it very stable; does not develop a blue or green patina and less dramatic colour changes than mill-finished copper.
